Flexor

Where your phone meets your computer

Flexor plugs the gap between your computer and your phone.

If you have a shiney new phone system with a Snom phone on your desk, would it be useful if you could dial a number just by clicking on an entry in your address book? If, when a call comes in, a small window pops up to tell you who it is calling you? And perhaps to even log the call for you, and give you a window to enter a few notes about the call?

Flexor plugs that gap.

Flexor for Snom and Outlook

Flexor is available for a variety of phones and to operate with a variety of software. Snom and Outlook are probably the two best known, see below for the full list.

Once installed, Flexor will interface with Outlook and add a few items to your Outlook menus. Then it will log in to your phone. This takes only a few moments to set up and, once done, should never need repeating, unless you re-install your computer or change your phone.

You get

  • a dedicated window on screen showing your status. You can dial by "pasting" in a number from any application, or "hang up" an existing call. You can also use this to set up a divert.
  • a "dial this number " option within outlook - just find someone in your Contacts section, right-click, choose which of their numbers to call, and the phone starts setting up the call at once. If you use a headset and the headset button is "on", then you are put through at once. Otherwise the phone rings to tell you when the call is ready, just pick up the handset to be put through.
  • a "popup" window near your clock when a call comes in. It will show the number (if available) and, if the numner is found in Outlook, the matching name.
  • a "journal" option. If you turn this option on, then Outlook will create a journal entry for every call, logging the time, date and caller, and popping a text window for you to add a few notes about the call if you wish to.

You can order Flexor from Wizards or you can obtain it directly by visiting the following url, creating an account for your company, and then choosing which software you need. The account remains your means of controlling your Flexor licences. If you prefer, Wizards will be more than happy to supply, configure and install Flexor on your system.
