The Problem

TCS have a small office, they have seven staff. But they don't want to keep the office, they've decided it suits them best for everyone to work from home, save the rent of the office space which they can live without. They already use a "cloud" based information system so they don't need a main server. They just need for each person to have reliable home broadband, and a phone.  They also don't want to have anyone tasked to act as "receptionist" and field all the phone calls that arrive on their main number. And finally, as an organization with a national purview, they want one of the new 03xx numbers.

Wizards' Solution

TCS have decided to use Virgin Media cable-broadband where it's available, we can supply ADSL for those users who can't get Virgin.

We have supplied a FeaturePlus phone to each member of the team. Each phone has it's own phone number, which they can use as a "DDI" (Direct Dial In) number.  They can transfer calls between each other just as if they were in an office with a PBX. They can conference-call. They can forward calls to mobiles or land lines. One team member has a holiday cottage which has broadband, and he can take his phone with him and work there just as easily! They particularly like the software which links their Microsoft Outlook contact list in to the phone system, so when a call comes in, the name is displayed, and they can call out by just clicking on a contact name in Outlook.

We provided a new 0333 number and provisioned on our inbound call management service, with a voice menu so that callers can choose which team member they speak to. The inbound system also gives TCS a report of how many calls they receive, and what times of the day and days of the week they come in!

Finally, we provided centralised billing. So the client gets a single bill each month which includes all the broadband services they get from us, all the phone rentals, and all their phone calls, all itemised and analysed. And the bill is delivered as a PDF by email saving paper. (This is all optional, we could create separate bills for each location if preferred, or split the broadband and phones on to different bills, and we can still provide printed bills in the post for clients who prefer.)
