Sonicwall's Email Security appliance sits between the outside world and your Exchange Server(s). Comprehensive rules and regularly updated blacklists put a stop to most spam, mail-borne viruses and trojans, and, as it talks to your ES via LDAP, it even knows what your usernames are, so can detect and deterr Directory Harvest attacks. 

The Email Security system is appliance based, no software to install on your mail server or to link into your mail client.
