Server Details

Here is a list of the various servers and settings you might need whilst using Wizards internet service.

1) DNS servers.

If you are picking up your IP address automatically you should get these at the same time! In case you need to set them manually anywhere

NS0.wizards.co.uk = 217.146.107.3
ns1.wizards.co.uk = 217.146.99.22

Note that these servers will only resolve queries for users on our IP address ranges.

2) Email servers

Outbound - post.wizards.co.uk

The main outbound mail server is post.wizards.co.uk. This server accepts SMTP AUTH connections. We strongly advise you to configure your mail software to use SMTP AUTH even if you are connected to our service, as it helps with problem solving.  If you wish to send mail via our service when you are NOT connected using our ADSL or Dialup, you will have to use SMTP AUTH

To set up SMTP Auth, check the advanced settings on your Outbound Server configuration, tell it your server requires authentication, then either re-use your POP account login details, or, if you have one, tick the box which tells the client software to use the same details as your POP account.

Inbound - POP - pop.wizards.co.uk
Inbound - IMAP - imap.wizards.co.uk

The traditional way to handle your email is POP3. This is a methord for fetching your new email from the server to your local computer. Just about every mail client handles POP3, some ONLY handle POP3. The server name is pop.wizards.co.uk, the username is your FULL email address, e.g. wizards_customer@somedomain.com. Your password is whatever you set it to when you set up your account.

If you wish to leave your mail on the server you may use an IMAP client. This provides a way of accessing the mail but doesn't download it to your computer. In this case, use imap.wizards.co.uk, other details as above. NOTE that there is limited storage space on our servers for your email, and also that the email in your mailbox is NOT backed up by our system.

Inbound - WEB - http://www.tidymail.co.uk - click READ MAIL.

You can use the web mail access from any computer on the internet. But note that once a mail has been downloaded using POP3, it is no longer avaiable via Web Mail.

Email admin, including changing your password.

http://www.tidymail.co.uk - click ADMINISTER ACCOUNT.

Admin menus - for more details see Tidymail Help system. BUt note that when we set up a new accont for you it will hae a default password, you should log in to this system and change it!!

3) Web servers

We don't set up websites for your domains until you ask us to. We'll work out which is the best web server for your site and advise you what it's name and log in details are at that time.
